- Marina is a mother and grandmother. From a young age, Marina knew she had polycystic kidney disease but it never bothered her. After many years living with the disease, Marina's kidneys failed. Marina started dialysis and had to put her life on hold. She missed travel and food while on dialysis. Both her daughter and son stepped forward wanting to donate, but it was her daughter who went through the process to donate in the Kidney Paired Donation Program. Marina was worried about what would happen to her daughter but with the love and perseverance of her family, the kidney transplant happened and was an incredible success. Marina is now thriving with her new found freedom!
